The House of Representatives has approved N30,000 as the new National Minimum Wage.
The National Council of State had approved N27,000 as minimum wage initially but the House of Representatives had increased it to N30,000.
The approval of the minimum wage is as a result of the adoption of the report given by the ad hoc committee set up on the New Minimum Bill presented to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The bill went through the third reading and the lawmakers in one accord approved the N30,000 recommendation by the committee in conformity with the resolution of the Tripartite Committee set up by Mr. President.
