The institution was established in 2012. Its main objective is to develop ICT skills in youths for free, and to groom them into ICT entrepreneurs.

Takalani Netshitenzhe, Chief Officer, Corporate Affairs for Vodacom Group said, "Corporates such as Vodacom do not exist in a vacuum. We exist in societies with high levels of inequality and abject poverty and therefore it is mandatory for us to partner with the public sector and non-governmental organisation and develop innovative solutions to assist government to tackle some of the socio-economic challenges plaguing our society."
The training is 24 months and it is based on theory, alongside with practical and work-base placement training in A+, which is an entry level computer service certification; N+, mid level certification for network technicians; and 39 connectivity.
The women are expected to participate in four areas in the institution which include, end-user computing (NQF level 3), cell phone and device repair management (NQF level 3), IT Technical Support (NQF level 4) and networking support (NQF level 5).
However, since the commencement of the ICT skills program, 32 IT entrepreneurs will be graduating alongside the ICT skills graduates, with certification on business management and entrepreneurship.
