What You Need To Know About The US Navy's New Frigate

The US Navy has innovated a new multi-mission Guided Missile Frigate which is able to sense enemy targets from far away distances, utilize new networking and ISR technologies, fire next generation precision weaponry, operate unmanned systems and withstand technically advanced enemies in open or "blue" water combat, according to service statement.

Over the years, the service has been enhancing and analyzing design, sensors and weapons concept for the new ship, called FFG (X). The Navy expects to execute development and eventually deploy the new ship in the early mid-2020s.

Again, the service statements analysis that  the new weapons and sensors will enable the ship to eliminate swarming small boat attacks, conduct disaggregated operations, attack enemies with an over-the-horizon missile, support carrier strike group, and engage in advanced surface and anti-submarine warfare.

France Navy's Aircraft Carrier Sail Out Of The Port Of Toulon To Fight ISIS

France nuclear aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle, has sailed out of Toulon on a great mission, after repairs. It is set to fight the remnants of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) and engage in many multinational drills.

The aircraft carrier departed for the eastern Mediterranean on Tuesday from the Southern Frenel Port of Toulon.

The Navy's aircraft carrier undergo 18 months of repairs and five sea trials. The French Defence Minister, Florence Parly was the first to appear on the carrier to say farewell to its crew.

In a statement, the minister said "the carrier is an instrument for cooperation, which allow France to shine throughout the world", and expected that the development will make an immense contribution towards the fight against IS.

"Very great fight is taking place in the side of the middle Euphrates Valley and the aircraft carrier will help put an end to the territorial caliphate. It is imminent. It is a vital step and a great step ahead", Parly told France Bleu, adding that the terrorist group is presently, "reconfiguring and mutating."

However, it was not obvious why a whole carrier group is required for such task and how it will eventually contribute to the "fight against IS."

The idea of Nuclear Fusion was initiated by a 40-year-old physicist, Michel Laberge in 2002. He quit his job at a Laser Printing Company to pursue his passion for Nuclear Fusion development.

Laberge, who is presently the company's chief scientist, was attracted to Nuclear fusion because of its world changing possibilities. Unlike nuclear fission which involves splitting of heavier atoms to form lighter ones with the release of radioactive waste, nuclear fusion produces no nuclear waste, no environmental harmful gasses, it can't be used to produce weapons, and it cannot cause a power plant to breakdown.

Nuclear fusion occur when two light atoms come together to form a heavier one with the release of energy. It is the process that powers the sun and stars. It also uses deuterium which is found in hydrogen, the major element in water. According to Live Science, a gallon of seawater can produce over 300 gallons of gasoline.

However, Jeff Bezos and companies like Cenovus Energy have invested more than $127 million to build up the company. According to Crenchbase, billions of more dollars have been invested in about two dozens other nuclear fusion start ups, such as Lockheed Martin's compact nuclear reactor.

Although, no one has commercialized nuclear fusion, the race of being the first to sponsor it is on and whoever does will be able to bring power to over one billion people who don't have access to electricity, power cars and aid companies to operate without having to release harmful emissions.

A Nine-Year-Old Lion Mauls Owner To Death

A nine-year-old male lion mauled owner to death in a village in the east of the Czech Republic on Tuesday morning police reported.

"I can confirm the breeder is dead", regional police spokeswoman Lenka Javorkova told AFP; and the case is still under investigation.

The 34-year-old man rear two lions, a two-year-old female and the nine-year-old male, without the required veterinary licence and in an enclosure built without a permit situated at the village of Zdechov.

The breeder's father called the police at about 0600 GMT after discovering his son's dead body in the lion's enclosure.

"The police shot the two lions dead in the enclosure. A doctor then confirmed the young breeder dead", said the spokeswoman.

Gay Couple Won Lawsuit Against Jerusalem Pizzeria

A gay couple who reported that a Jerusalem Pizzeria refused to serve them food last summer has won their lawsuit against the Ben Yehuda Pizza restaurant. Ben Yehuda Pizza has been mandated to pay a sum of 16,000NIS ($4,400) in damages to Sammy Kanter, a homosexual who told the restaurant owner that he is a rabbinal student.

In a dialogue with the restaurant owner, Israel Today discovered that the gay couple were not from Israel. They had visited Israel to participate in last Summer's Gay Pride weekend events in Jerusalem. "They came to my Pizzeria on Friday afternoon, when we were about to close for Sabbath", the owner said. "They were all pumped up and still dressed up from their parade", he added.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Kanter said, "after we entered the shop, the employee greeted us and handed out menus. Immediately, his demeanor shifted after taking a look at my (gay pride) shirt. He ask if I was gay. After responding 'yes', he simply said, 'Get out'".

The owner of the restaurant actually insisted that he serves everybody present in the Pizzeria with joy and that he would never discriminate anyone. "This is my business and my livelihood. I love serving the people of this city", he said. He is an orthodox Jew and was surprised at how a homosexual man can be studying to become a rabbi. "They came to Israel to stir up trouble. They had an agenda and its too bad the court go along with it", he lamented.

Hearing Doesn't Return Once Lost- World Health Organisation

An estimated number of 466 million people have hearing disability, and World Health Organization estimates that by 2050, that figure will almost double, affecting one in 10 people.

In order to mark World Hearing Day 2019, WHO has launched a new mobile and web-based app called "hear WHO", which allow people to check their hearing ability from time to time, and respond quickly in case of hearing loss. It can also be used by health workers to screen people in community, and if they failed the test they can be referred for diagnostic testing.

Consequently, users of the app have been mandated to concentrate, listen and enter a series of numbers when prompted. These numbers have been recorded against different levels of background sound, feigning listening ability in everyday life. The app displays the users score, and its meaning, and stores the result of the test so that the user can monitor hearing status regularly.

The symptoms exhibit by hearing loss include a ringing sensation in the ear, referred to as tinnitus, frequently missing parts of a dialogue, or a tendency to increase the volume of television, radio or other audio devices.

The app is particularly useful to people who are frequently exposed to high level of sound, such as those who listen to loud music or work in noisy places; those who use medications that affect hearing and people that are above 60 years.

According to a statement issued by WHO, Dr. Shelly Chadha, Technical Officer of the organization, said that "once loss, hearing does not come back. Through World Hearing Day, and with the help of this app, we encourage people to check their hearing ability in order to help sustain this precious gift that makes life amazing."

Russian Rocket Carrying NASA And Its Astronauts Failed In Mid-Air

A Russian booster rocket carrying a Soyuz spacecraft with a Russian and US astronauts on board heading towards the International Space Station failed in mid-air on Thursday, this made the team to make an emergency landing.

The rocket was launched from the Soviet-era Cosmodrome in Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The rocket was carrying Russian cosmonaut Alexei Ouchinin and US astronaut Nick Hague. A Routers reporter who observed the launched rocket from around 1 Km away said it had gone smoothly at the initial stage and that the failure of the booster rocket must have taken place at higher altitude.

Russian news agencies reported that the team had landed safely through the help of search and rescue crew in the air which headed towards the expected touch down location of the booster rocket.
